This spirit is first matured in the best ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak. This creates a harmonious base of soft vanilla and honey notes. The precious whisky is then split evenly between ex-bourbon casks and tawny port casks from W & J Graham's renowned vineyards in Portugal. After both parts have been allowed to mature individually, the whisky is finally brought together and harmonized to create Portwood Reserve.
